During the week of March 17-21 (Monday thru Friday), Slim Goodies will donate the cost of your meal to the Humane Society of Louisiana! Tell the waiter that instead of paying for your breakfast or lunch you would like to make a donation to HSL, then just write out a check equal to the amount of the bill to the Humane Society of Louisiana. The checks will be collected at the end of the week and forwarded to our offices. Slim Goodies is open for breakfast and lunch, from 6 am to 3 pm, during those days. Slim's offers a wide range of foods including conventional breakfasts and lunches, platters from etouffe to nachos and a delightful assortment of vegetarian dishes. One of our personal favorites is Vegetable Napoleon which includes sliced portabello mushrooms, eggplant, spinach, tomatoes & caramelized onions sauteed in red wine, garlic pesto, covered w/provolone cheese & served w/a side salad & biscuit!

This opportunity to raise funds for HSL is done to honor Ray Horn, Jr., who passed away several years ago at a young age. Ray loved animals and was a vegetarian. Lil Ray, as he was known to his family and friends, was the nephew of Kappa Horn, the owner of Slim Goodies. He will never be forgotten!

Join us for the party! On Saturday, March 22, the Humane Society of Louisiana will be hosting a beer bash from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at Slim Goodies, 3322 Magazine Street. Hot plates of food will be offered for $10, and draft beer will be on sale for $2. There will also be a raffle and door prizes.
